Important: Your original photographs are safe in our studio since we never ship to out-of-town restorers.

PHOTO-RESTORATION: PROCESS AND PRICING

Our FREE ESTIMATE includes the following three steps:

1) Master Scan of original: We first create a high-resolution digital Master copy of the original piece to be restored. This Master captures all of the details of the original, including all of its flaws. Many times we merge multiple scans to capture a complete range of dark and light tones, plus it's full spectrum of colors.

Originals 8x10 and smaller… $25
Larger than 8x10… $35

2) Restoration artwork: This is where the magic happens. With special skills, our artists remove all of the damaged parts of the image, re-create the parts that are destroyed, and creatively enhance your piece to make it as special as when it was first created.

$25 per 1/4 hr.

3) The Finished product: We deliver photo restoration in thousands of variations of size, paper choices, printing methods, and display options. This may include standard photographs, Giclee’ lithographs, metal, wood prints, acrylic, custom framing, and/or digital files. Don't panic, we’re here to help with all of these decisions...

A basic sampling of print prices includes:

20x24-$375

20% Discount on duplicate prints when ordered at the time of the original order.

Example: You bring in a 5x7 print to restore (scan $25); we estimate it will take 1 1/2 hours to repair (artwork $150); and you request an 11x14" (print $175). Total Estimate = $350.

FAQ's

What happens with my original photos or artwork?: Your original photos never leave our studio. Many other restoration providers send your original photos out of town. Once we make our high-resolution digital negative, we keep your original safe until you pick them up. You have no worries because we never work on your original, only our newly created master copy.
What will my finished portrait look like?: We do our best to share our expectations of what the final image(s) will look like at the same viewing appointment that we create your free estimate. We want you to be super happy with the outcome. Every project is a different challenge and we want you to be fully informed.
Will you restore other professional photographers' or artist's work?: All photographs are automatically copyrighted by its creator (including your own photographs). (The Copyright Act of 1976) If your original was created by a professional, we have an obligation to try to find the photographer, or his heirs, to secure a proper release. If we cannot find the creator, we will restore your image after transferring the copyright infringement liability to you. In our 30+ years, this has never been an issue.
Can I send you my original?: If you are not in our area to bring your originals in person, you certainly may ship them to us, and we'll ship them back to you both at your cost. We’ll contact you upon arrival to discuss the estimated cost of restoration.

We do not accept any responsibility for the loss or damage of your original images during both incoming and return shipping. We suggest you properly package and insure your original, and ship it with a trackable courier. Call for safer packaging suggestions.

Sometimes we're able to give you a preliminary estimate with some emailed or texted snapshots you send. A confirmed Estimate will be sent upon receiving the actual original.
